Chester Bowl Uphill Policy:
Chester Bowl does not allow uphill travel during active Alpine Operations. This includes when the hill is open for Alpine operations with the chairlift running (hours found on our web site) and during grooming and snowmaking operations (which cannot be predicted in advance).
Chester Bowl operates its Alpine Program in the City of Duluth Chester Bowl Park through a management agreement with the City of Duluth. Because of this, City rules and regulations must be followed when using the trails outside of Alpine Operations. Uphill traffic is allowed during park hours (6 am to 10 pm) when the hill is not in operation. Uphill users accessing Chester Park trails outside of operating hours do so at their own risk. Operational conditions can vary, including unfinished grooming activities. No ski area services, including Ski Patrol, are available during non-operational hours. No passes are needed for uphill travel.
A season or day pass is always required to use the Alpine hill when in operation.
