Cadet+: The Year-Round Cadet Program  

Community. Connection. Growth.  

At Chester Bowl, we believe in fostering the next generation of leaders—and Cadet+ is designed to do just that! This year-round youth development program empowers teens to build skills, forge friendships, and make a lasting impact in their community. Through hands-on volunteering, leadership training, and outdoor adventures, Cadets will grow as individuals while giving back to the place they love.  

Why join Cadet+?  

The Cadet+ program is coordinated by the Chester Bowl True North AmeriCorps member serving October through August each year. Chester Bowl staff and community members support the program by coordinating gatherings, training opportunities, and orientations. These folks will facilitate: 

✅ Community: Serve alongside peers, mentor younger campers, and take part in meaningful service projects.

✅ Connection: Build lifelong friendships and deepen ties to Chester Bowl through seasonal events, field trips, and skill-building workshops.  

✅ Growth: Gain job-ready skills, certifications (like CPR/First Aid), and leadership experience—all while having fun on the slopes, at camp, and beyond!  

With perks like a personalized jacket, free season pass, and exclusive training, Cadet+ is more than a program—it’s a launchpad for confidence, responsibility, and adventure.  

Grade & Participation Requirements

Participants in Cadet+ must be entering into 7th grade during the 25/26 school year or have already completed 7th (or higher grades). 

Participants are expected to participate in summer & winter program activities, training opportunities, orientations, and other Cadet+ events to the best of their abilities. This ends up being about 10 hours per month on average. 

During winter & summer programming, Cadets will be able to select the dates and times they are available to participate using Signup Genius. 

There will be several gatherings during which Cadets will get to participate in staff & AmeriCorps led field trips or activities. 

Here’s the schedule for this year’s program. Please note that these dates are subject to change and more training opportunities will be added.

  • 5/12/25: Cadet+ registration closes 
  • 5/18/25, 1-5pm: Summer Orientation (email beth@chesterbowl.org if not available)
  • 5/27/25, 12-4pm: Spring Cadet Gathering 
  • 6/9/25-8/14/25: Summer Camp Programming w/ weekly leadership trainings
  • 8/14/25, 5-6pm: End of Summer Staff & Cadet Party & Awards
  • 8/1/25: Summer Cadet Gathering (TBD)
  • 9/20/25: Fall Fest Event
  • 10/11/25: Fall Cadet Gathering (TBD)
  • 10/16/25 & 10/17/25: Fall Camp 
  • December 2025: Winter Orientation (TBD)
  • December 2025-March 2026: Winter Program (TBD)
  • 2/7/26: Winter Cadet Gathering (TBD)
  • March, 2026: End of Winter Cadet Party (TBD)
  • March, 2026: End of Year Gathering & Graduation (TBD)

Program Cost & Registration Deadline

Cadet+ costs $200 and must be paid in full by May 12, 2025. For scholarship support email sam@chesterbowl.org
